Glitsch-Kitsch With this artwork(s), I explore the impact of our digital connections and influences on our real-life relationships. While it’s amazing that we are constantly connected, this can also cause interference — a kind of glitch — in how we relate to one another. The piece is a combination of two typically 1980s forms of craft. Once considered decorative, they are now often seen as kitsch, which makes them all the more interesting to pair with a digital phenomenon: the glitch — a kind of digital erosion in pixelated images. At the heart of the work is the relationship between two images: a cheesy romantic couple and a traditional hunting scene. This juxtaposition raises the question: in a relationship, who is the hunter and who is the prey?
